about the work
A contemporary abstract painter Kerry builds layers in both paint and meaning, each equally critical for success, pouring liquids onto canvas which mix and merge creating beautiful shapes and subtle veils of colour. She develops the image brushing, scraping, staining, drawing, printing and with collage, revealing and concealing elements until it articulates that elusive magic and becomes personally significant and visually engaging, often saturated with uplifting joyous colour evoking a dreamlike quality open to interpretation.
